Overview

Funny Face ("the app", "we", "us") is a free Android camera app that applies real-time augmented-reality (AR) face filters powered by Snap Camera Kit. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Funny Face you agree to the practices described here.

In short: AR effects run on your device. We do not upload your camera images or videos to our servers, and we do not collect biometric or face-recognition data.

Information we handle

We aim to collect as little as possible. The app handles:

  • Camera & microphone input — used in real time to preview filters and to record photos/videos. This media stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
  • Filter catalog requests — the app contacts our servers to download the list of available filters and their assets. These requests include standard technical data such as your IP address and device/OS type.
  • Advertising & analytics identifiers — such as the Android Advertising ID, used by our advertising and analytics providers (see below).
  • App usage & diagnostic data — anonymous/aggregated events (e.g. which screens are opened, crashes) to help us improve the app.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts or precise location.

Camera, microphone & AR processing

The camera and microphone are used only while you are in the camera screen. AR lenses are rendered on your device through Snap Camera Kit. Camera frames are processed locally to display effects and are not transmitted to or stored by us.

We do not perform facial recognition, do not create a faceprint, and do not use your face to identify you. Photos and videos you capture are saved to your device's local storage/gallery, under your control.

How we use information

  • To provide the core experience: live camera preview, filters, capture, music and saving.
  • To deliver and update the filter catalog.
  • To show advertising that keeps the app free.
  • To measure performance, fix crashes and improve features.
  • To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

Third-party services

Funny Face relies on a small number of trusted providers. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Snap Camera Kit (Snap Inc.) — powers on-device AR lens rendering. See Snap's Privacy Policy and the Camera Kit terms.
  • Google AdMob (Google) — serves in-app advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase (Google) — Analytics and Remote Config for app diagnostics and configuration.

These services may receive device identifiers and technical data as needed to function.

Advertising

To keep Funny Face free, we display ads through Google AdMob, which may use the Android Advertising ID and similar identifiers to show relevant ads and limit repetition. You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.

Sharing & on-device storage

When you tap share, your photo or video is handed to the app you select (such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Messenger) using Android's standard share mechanism. From that point, the receiving app's own privacy policy applies. We do not control or receive a copy of what you share.

Data retention

Media you create stays on your device until you delete it. Technical, analytics and advertising data held by our providers is retained according to their respective policies. We retain server logs only as long as needed for operation and security.

Your choices & rights

  • Revoke camera or microphone permission anytime in Android system settings.
  • Reset or opt out of ad personalization via your device's advertising settings.
  • Delete your captured media directly from the app or your gallery.
  • Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK, California), you may have rights to access or delete personal data — contact us to make a request.

Children's privacy

Funny Face is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
